It comes as no surprise that the announcement of Destin leaving ScrewAttack sent The Daily DL’s analytics through the roof. This was an overwhelming surprise to the both of us and we quickly started talking about a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly posting showing some of the analytical information. I’m unsure if anyone out there is interested in this (just post in the comments if you are), however as the site grows I thought it would be nice to share these stats with you.
If you’re not familiar with Google Analytics don’t worry, I’ll explain what you’re seeing. Mind you, this is some geeky stuff, but look at this way, if you decide to help get the word out there about The Daily DL you’ll be able to see the affect you’ve had on the site.
The first image below is just a general overview. You can see from Jan, 27th – Feb 26th there was a total of 5,127 views of the site. Most of this took place between Feb 25th & 26th.
Now I know you must think Destin’s website get’s thousands of hits a month, right? Well just take a look at the graph below. You might be surprised.
Last but not least, where did everyone come from. Let’s take a look at the top 10 results.
Well the obvious first answer is ScrewAttack itself. Then the next… well you can see on the left below. Those are all the different ways people got to the site. On the right hand side you can see all the “keywords” used in the search engines that brought people here. Not sure who the one person was that thought Corey was leaving, but okay.
It’s a brief overview, but it should give you some insight as to what is happening behind the scenes. I hope you enjoy seeing this information. If you’d like to see more posts like this, just leave a comment below.

I’d be excited if I got a fuckton of traffic so I geek out over that sort of thing personally as I’ve been trying to earn supplemental income from the internets. Not super sorry to see you go because I think screwattack sucks. But at the same time hard news was the only thing I actually subscribed to the youtube channel for. So, yeah I’ll check out this website from time to time so how it goes. Good luck.
Actually, i personally really enjoy watching these things. i always look at the traffic on my site and see what makes me get more hits.
Hey Destin, 1st i want to say i did cry when i found out you were leaving…it was a manly cry…hardly lol and 2nd i wanted to know if you have a psn.
The was nice to see and would definitely be a cool plus to checking the site. I am new to wordpress and the daily dl, but as it stands this site is def going to grow like crazy in the next couple of weeks and you can bet i’ll spread the cool news.

I found this to be very interesting. Would love to see more posts like this. I remember first coming to this site after I got the ScrewAttack DVD and it talked about “DailyDL” so I searched YouTube, saw the old videos, then came to this site. Was about a year or 2 ago. Can’t wait to see what the future holds
Showing your analytics would be extremely interesting to me. I always obsess over my stats on my websites daily. Can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for The Daily DL.
@FanBoy I’ve worked on a lot of sites, essentially it’s “what I do” and pushing 3.5k daily won’t be too hard at all. I know Destin has a lot on his plate but you won’t have to wait patiently to long.
Also, I may be posting some stuff weekly. More on the random side of things, but I do find some good nuggets that interest people.
@Gibbous im not actually surprised given that is around the amount of daily visitors to SA.
i was actually expecting more due to come from YT and GameTrailers and the sort to boost the number closer to 3.5k
but that could be my biased for Destin messing with those numbers……
anyway this site is lock onto my rockmelt browser so i can see exactly when new content comes our way :P
now the hardest part is to wait patiently…….
@FanBoy Of course that’s why there was a spike on the 25th, no question about it. It was just a bit of a shock as to how many actually came to the site because of the news.
@JOSH Glad to know that you’ll be sticking around to see what we have in store. More videos, more articles, more video game content than was started out with originally.

I actually don’t know that Destin has a website on his own until he said it.. since he’s leaving ScrewAttack, and I still wanna hear more about him talking about gaming or anything that he would like to share, I guess I be frequently checking his site from now on (^^)
i think the spike came up purely because most of us didnt know about it till he said “hey i’m leaving but i’ll be here” thing….

Ouhhhh… Believe me, there is a LOT in store for The Daily DL. Enough to make you want to come back “everyday” for Daily Destin and more.

This is good but remember that quality and consistent content output is key. Thats why I always came to Screw Attack, for Daily Destin everyday
