I’ve been excited for Mirror’s Edge ever since it was announced. When I played the demo, I absolutely loved it. Maybe there’s hope for EA after all.

If you all remember Bioshock, then you’ll remember the kickass time that you had playing it on your Xbox360. PS3 owners, however didn’t get their Game of the Year 2006 until now, and it looks like 2k has a special treat for them. Above is the teaser for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. Yeah, I just came in my pants am just as excited as you guys are.

With the success of Halo 1 through 3 what could kill the production of Halo 4?
Is the Halo series female friendly enough? With the introduction of “Missy Chief” will it make male players what to stop playing? And whats up with Missy Chief’s secret weapon?
Watch and find out.

Many of you readers out there are probably aware of a game called DOTA that is available as a downloadable map for Warcraft III and its expansion, The Frozen Throne. Heck, a song was even written about it. I myself have had many a great nights LANing it up with friends for hours. Well, there’s good news for all you fans of the RTS RPG genre.
Riot Games, led by the developers who first created the DOTA mod, are creating their own standalone game called League of Legends (LOL - pun intended!), which will have many of the same elements found in DOTA, with a few changes of course. Instead of individual units to control, you get a Summoner avatar that controls troops that fight for you. The Summoner gains levels and items during a game and loses them after the game ends; however, the Summoner is carried on to the next game.
I’m pretty excited for this game, if only because I love DOTA, but it just goes to show that you don’t need a $100 million dollar budget to make a good game. I’m looking at you Halo.

So I was looking over at 1UP to see if any cool news popped up today and I happened upon this gem. Some user re-created the Final Fantasy theme in Little Big Planet. It’s pretty cool, so check it out.
Most of you are probably tired of hearing about Little Big Planet by now. I mean, we post something about it everyday! However, this one is just too cool to pass up.
Looks like someone decided to say “Screw You!” to Guitar Hero World Tour and their fancy shmancy music editor and expensive peripherals and made a 1 minute cover of the introduction of the song “Sweet Child O Mine” of Guns and Roses fame using the tools available in Little Big Planet beta. User and creator of the level DjFuZ states in his description that “this is only the introduction, making the full song could, and probably would take weeks.” Well, we here on the TheDailyDL are looking forward to your eventual Fall Out Boy cover… no, we’re just kidding, please don’t hurt us.

So, you might be wondering just what instruments Nintendo could possibly have lined up for this trainwreck of an idea innovative new rhythm game to compete against EA’s Rock Band and Activision’s Guitar Hero series. Well, if anyone guessed a Famicon (Nintendo Entertainment System or NES here in the states) back when the game was first announced in E3, then I owe someone lots of money. And possibly an arm.
From the video, it looks like you’re playing a trumpet except it makes NES sounds. It looks fun, but I just feel uncomfortable with the fact that the Mii on stage looks like she’s eating her controller.

So the big announcement over at Bungie was THIS TRAILER.  Lots of speculation about the ODST (Oribital Drop Shock Troopers) being in a Halo 3 expansion was rumored and now it may have been confirmed. Not much else to say. The trailer was released at 7:07am pst which shows just how much Bungie loves the number 7. The trailers been released, so make sure you check it out!
Now I’ll be the first one to admit that Mercenaries 2 isn’t a GTA killer, or anything even close. Â BUT, they did get one thing right and that is co-op shenanigans. Â That’s right co-op shenanigans, sure the game is buggy. Â The kind of buggy where you have to start missions over because the HVT you need to capture is suspended in the air in a by some unknown force. In co-op however, that doesn’t even matter. Â You and your Co-op friend of choice will spend so much time just having pure fun with the tools of destruction, that you won’t mind doing a mission over once or twice. Â What is better then dropping a tank of fuel from a helicopter on a man? Oh wait, I know! Â Driving a car with a cruise missile marker on it through and enemy base!
EA and Pandemic understands co-op shenanigans is where it’s at, just like Microsoft did when the released Crackdown. Â EA understands this so much, that they put a shnazzy video together for us to enjoy.
In case the last video I posted last week didn’t scare you enough, I’m giving you another one. Gametrailers has given us another treat from Wii Music. We can control a dog and we can control a cheerleader. We can do ANYTHING!
I’m not sure but the last time I checked, cheerleaders weren’t shouting “pretty” at a testosterone packed, sweat producing team.
