Back at E3, Sony and CCP showed off Dust 514 for the PS3 and explained how it connects with the PC’s EVE Online. Today, CCP’s CEO, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, told how they will manage the launch of Dust 514 into this plan.
Pétursson explained that Dust 514 will have what he called a cover charge that is paid upfront in the beginning to play the game. It’s not money totally lost though because later you will receive credits as in-game currency.
“In the beginning you have to pre-buy credits, so you pay something like $10-$20 to enter the game and you get the equivalent number of credits in the game once you do that. We call this the ‘cover charge’.”
CCP’s CEO did state though that they might make Dust 514 fully free-to-play down the line but that the cover charge will be required for their launching of the game. There’s no word on how far off total free-to-play form is from the launch and charge though.

From what I read off the site’s forums, and from posted video interviews, there will be about a $40 purchase price for the game that is then converted into in game currency. After that it’s free to play with no obligation, but an option too, purchase more credits later.
I hope this game is going to be awesome!!
if the game is GOOD i will pay for it
