Fans of the Ghostbusters series have been through alot. First they hear that they’re getting their game, then they hear it was dropped because of the Activision Blizzard merger. But through trials and tribulations, those same Ghostbusters fans will be rewarded for their continued support for the release of this game. Dan Ackroyd of Ghostbusters fame, who is closely tied to the game, stated on a radio station that Ghostbusters has been picked up by Atari and that it was coming “a year away.” Now here’s a question. Why did THQ pick up 50 Cent instead of Ghostbusters?
On October 21, 2007, one of DHL’s trains going from McAllen, Texas, to Long Beach, California derailed and as a consequence 21,600 Xbox 360 consoles got “destroyed” in the accident. Those consoles were going to be shipped to Flextronics Industrial Co. in Honk Kong, China who were the intended recipient. A year later Microsoft has decided to sue DHL for $2 Million dollars due to “impact damage, wetting, pilfering and shortage” that the consoles suffered during the accident. Not only that, but DHL has refused to compensate Microsoft for the lost even thought they “negligently breached its duties as a common carrier, handler, bailee, warehouseman, agent, or in other capabilities.” the court says. DHL has not yet commented about the suit. No wonder why many people complain about broken 360’s.
The extremely hyped Mirrors Edge is headed into stores November 11th, but EA has come forward to let us know that we may be seeing more from the IP. Senior producer Owen O’Brien revealed that the first game is actually the first in a three story arc. The first few games will be all about Faith and her experiences in the world, but after the third game in the series, the story and features will branch out further. According to O’Brien one of those features could be a level editor, but they want to make sure it’s done right first. Well maybe NOT telling us that you’re going to milk the hell out of a franchise would have been the right thing to do but whatever, as long as it doesn’t end up like Madden, I’ll be happy.
Gamecock, the publisher behind upcoming titles like Mushroom Men, Legendary, and Velvet Assassin were purchased yesterday by publisher SouthPeak. SouthPeak feels that Gamecock will be bringing them a good list of upcoming titles and helps them continue to work with independent developers. Neither company revealed how much the acquisition was for, but hopefully the purchase doesn’t effect Gamecocks uncanny ability to dress up like jack asses and promote a game.
Rumors are flying all over the internet today that are claiming a return is imminent for Marvel vs. Capcom 2. The popular forum NeoGaf was the first to break the story when they posted an image from the ESRB’s list of games that showed it would be coming to the PSN, and XBLA. Of course the internet is going a little bit berserk about the rumor, but Capcom has not said a word yet. Based on the images seen below, it looks like the game is listed as a Puzzle fighter, but with the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 title and, when I went to check the ESRB’s site to see if the game was listed at all I noticed that it was taken down. I found that extremely strange seeing the original Marvel vs. Capcom was listed for the Dreamcast, but nothing for the PS2 or Xbox version or Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Very interesting. Well, at this point all I know is that my copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the Xbox went up on ebay 2 seconds after I heard the news. Let’s hope I’m not wrong.

Well right now I can’t say it’s been confirmed, but based on the fact that box art has been released for Halo 3: Recon, I think the game may not be a downloadable expansion at all for the popular FPS. Is it going to be a stand alone title, or is this just being released for those who don’t have access to the internet? I guess we’ll just have to keep listening for more details.
Looks like Gamevideos.com got an awesome exclusive video for the new game coming from the creator of Katamari Damacy. The trailer only seems to be showing off gameplay, but if your a Katamari fanboy then I’ll bet you’ll still explode with glee knowing that you may be playing something just as addicting. Check out the trailer above.
So I got a random e-mail today from a reader telling me about a Pong flash game being hosted on ABC’s site in an effort to promote their new show Life on Mars. Now I’ve never heard of the show and I had no idea what it was about until I checked out the site, but it seems like a person was sent back in time before computers were invented?
Yeah I’m just as confused as you are, but I guess Harvey Keitel is in the show so maybe it won’t suck. Thats a very big MAYBE.
