Lets start it up a little differently today. E3 is over, it’s time to get back to some normalcy and I’m here to get you caught up on all you missed. For the Daily DL I’m Destin and this is your weekly wrap up.

I hate Jimmy Fallon. (Source: My Soul) The late night show host has been getting exclusive looks at new games all week long. To make me feel better about myself I’ve taken a series of clips that make h im look like a complete tool and compiled them for you.

Well. I feel like a bigger man now. Take that Fallon.

Nintendo announced that the Wii U will not have DVD or Blu-Ray functionality. (Source: GameSpot) They said this is because they think that enough people already have that functionality and the added expense wasn’t worth it. Yeah good call. I’m sure putting a giant effing screen in the controller didn’t add anything to the expense so not having DVD functionality seems like a logical exclusion.

Now lets take a second to talk about reviews scores. The consensus seems to be that it’s crap, and My Duke Nukem Review will be up and here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect.

You’ll have to get my full impressions only on The Daily DL.com where I’ll probably swear a lot more in the full review.

Mass Effect 3 is well into development as it has a release date of March 6th 2012, but new rumors indicate that it could have a multiplayer component. (Source: 1up) Eurogamer said there would be a hoard mode similar to what we saw in Gears 3, and CVG says there will be original missions separate from the campaign. The co-op will be four player according to the rumor which points out that EA is keen to push the multiplayer side of the game. Four player co-op eh? Well if it’s anything like the campaign I’ll be sure to slaughter all of my teammates the first chance I get.

Call of Duty Black Ops will be getting new maps. The Annihilation pack includes at least 4 new maps, and will cost… FIFTEEN DOLLARS! Well I’ll never play that.

and finally EA also revealed a new service this week called Origin. (Source: GamePro) Origin is almost exactly like Steam, but it’s a service no one has heard of until now. They already ripped Crysis 2 off of steam just in time for it’s first update which is now only available on their new service Origin. EA says this is due to a new business term Steam implemented that forced them to remove the title. Good call EA, that move definitely won’t lose you millions of dollars.

Welcome to the E3 special of The Daily DL… which I only have time to do weekly. Today, I’ll be getting you up to speed as fast as I can about all the news you’re going to want to know about before going into E3 week and I wore this suit… mostly because I need to do laundry. Anyway let’s get to it. I’m Destin and this is an E3 special byatch.

One thing you’ll be hearing about at E3 is the new paid service coming to Call of Duty known as Call of Duty Elite. (Source: YouTube) The new service offers pretty much every single free service companies like Bungie offers you for free, but will charge you for it. Activision has yet to determine a price, but fan’s on youtube are already ecstatic about this new service.

The Playstation handheld known as the NGP has has a ton of people saying that it’s real name will be revealed to be the PSVita. (Source: Joystiq) Not much else to tell there, but if you think of vaginal care products, or some type of rash, don’t worry. That’s a typical response to hearing the ridiculous name for the first time.

Plenty of Uncharted news was revealed including the beta start date for Uncharted 3 which will be June 28th for PlayStation Plus Members, (Source: IGN) and July 4th for everyone else. Also, the NGP Vita thing will be getting a version of Uncharted called Uncharted Golden Abyss. I’d have a joke here, but I was too busy thinking about how much I hate the name Vita.

One thing you probably won’t be seeing at E3 is Starcraft 2, but a new trailer for Heart of the Swarm was released last week so let’s take a look and get boners. (Source: My Pants)

Rumor has it that Mass Effect 3 will be getting Kinect support. (Source: Joystiq) An image popped up on EA’s website showing Mass Effect 3 box art with the “Better with Kinect” artwork firmly planted on the cover. Spoiler warning… nothing… nothing is better with Kinect especially not Mass Effect 3.

I’ve got a few more stories for you, but Konami (Source: Live Stream) had their press conference last week and they didn’t manage to embarrass themselves. Lets go over what some of their announcements were… during afterburner.

A new Silent Hill was announced. You may remember Silent Hill as that game you stopped caring about 5 years ago. The talked about some soccer game where you kick a ball into a net…

The big news was really all about the HD collections of Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peacewalker which will both be coming to the PS3, and Xbox 360. This was introduced with a funny segment pulled off by Mega 64. Here’s a clip.

Taken completely out of context that looks really stupid.

Mega64 also revealed a new Transfaring service that will be available for the NGP, PSP, and PS3 that allows you to take games on the go, and play your PSP games on the PS3 using the PS3′s controller. Translation, you may never again need to use your PSP unless you go outside… and we all know that never happens.

Kojima also revealed his new Fox Engine which I would say looks bad ass… if anything exciting happened in the tech demo. To be fair, those leaves falling sure do look like leaves falling.

and finally they had one last teaser for us which was a big huge flaming C. Could that be a new contra? Could they have another press conference where they continue their tradition of embarrassing themselves every year? Stay tuned next week on The Daily DL.com to find out.

Moving on, Twisted Metal got one more new trailer showing off some flying cars that look a lot like Transformers. (Source: Joystiq) Regardless, I am now officially interested in the new Twisted Metal.

and finally, I have one more piece of news before I head out to E3. (Source: Tomb Raider) There was a new Tomb Raider trailer released finally giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the reboot of the Tom Raider series. Apparently we can expect to see Lara Croft… get the crap kicked out of herself. Yeah I don’t want you to think I’m a sadist… but I cannot wait to see her break a leg in this new reboot. Get it… because she breaks her legs?

It’s memorial day weekend, but before you guys head out to start roasting weenies, I’ve got all your video game news from the week. For the Daily DL I’m Destin, and this is the Weekly Wrap Up.

If you could tease a new Aliens video game, how would you do it? How about burnt cevered, doll heads? (Source: DTOID) Well that’s exactly what someone thought would be a good idea, and while it’s dramatic it seems to have gotten the job done. Jim Sterling over on Destructoid was the first one I saw who connected the dots after he noticed that it was sent by Rebecca Jorden, a character known as Newt in the Aliens series. You know what? I’m calling it right now.

Legit. We’ve been teased by Gearbox for a year, but after I talked to Randy Pitchford last year I can confirm that the game is well underway. If revealed at E3 with a video of any kind, this will be the first time we’ve heard about the game, since The Daily DL posted the first trailer back in 2008. Also, Kotaku has an interview scheduled to see the game, so I’m pretty sure I’m right on this one.

Sony’s back in the news, but for something that I don’t think is going to be a PR nightmare! During an earnings call earlier this week, Sony not only confirmed that the NGP is on track to release this year, (Source: CVG) but they also had news about something a little bigger. The PS4. (Source: Eurogamer) During that same call, they said that they’re working on a future platform to follow the PS3. This contradicts the statements made in March when Kaz Hirai seemed to be saying that they weren’t working on a next-generation home console. Weather or not this has anything to do with the fact that Nintendo could be about to destroy the competition with a new console remains to be seen.

Okay I have a lot to cover, and I want to get to my vacation, so I’m just going to throw it right into afterburner mode. Let’s go.

Ghost Recon is going Free-to-Play with their new shooter GhostRecon Online. This will be the first online multiplayer title where you can shoot gold sellers right in the face. (Source: DTOID)

A new Call of Duty trailer was released. Not a single person was surprised that a Call of Duty will be released the same time it is every year. (Source: Press Release)

Kojima has something big planned for the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear next year. Hint… IT’S MORE METAL GEAR. (Source: Joystiq)

Valve is offering free Portal 2 soundtrack downloads. I don’t have a joke for that one, you should just download it. (Source: Game Informer)

and A 2D side scrolling gameplay trailer was revealed for the new BloodRayne. (Source) This was quite surprising seeing I was sure Uwe Boll had destroyed the franchise with that awful awful attempt at being a film maker.

Stop. Best time ever oh yeah.

One last segment for you guys, seeing we’re headed into E3. Gametrailers released their top 10 most anticipated games of E3 and instead of wasting your time watching it, I thought I’d tell you what was listed in a little segment called Spoilers. (Source: Gametrailers)

They said Dark Souls, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Tomb Raider, Zelda: Skyward Sword, I’m a dick for doing this, Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, and Bioshock Infinite. I will end up going to hell for this segment. Also, they’re right about every single one of those.

finally, a few new details about Ninja Gaiden 3 have finally come to the surface, and I’m more than willing to share. (Source: Joystiq) A NeoGaf user quoted a Playstation Magazine article that says the game will ditch the store for weapons that upgrade over time, that it will have move support, not be toned down for the casual player, will include a mode that supports up to eight players in it’s new competitive, and cooperative multiplayer,and that the game will be bringing back tons and tons of blood.

Theres more Playstation news people are sick of hearing about, (Source: Evil Avatar) a new x-men character was revealed for X-Men Destiny… a game no ones excited for, (Source: GI) and The Penguin was revealed as a Batman Arkham City Villain. (Source: Arkham) You know what, that’s it. That’s like 3 stories right there. Let’s just move on.

Microsoft sent out badges to their press conference… which… I still haven’t reveived… and some…. okay just Nick Chester of Destructoid noticed that it includes some hints at big announcements. (Source: Nick Chester the Detective) There’s stickers that say Master Chief, Cortana, and stickers that reference the Halo franchise. Because Nick Chester is also a detective that fight’s crime at night, he figured out that Microsoft could be kicking off E3 with a big announcement about our favorite Spartan. Monday June 6th is the day we’ll find out if he’s right, but make sure to keep his alternate identity a secret. I got your back Nick.

and finally, my entire excuse for recording an episode today. (Source: The Daily DL) The Modern Warfare 3 Trailer. That’s right, the first gameplay trailer of Modern Warfare 3 was released by Activision and dam it looks so freaking good. Haven’t seen it yet? Here’s a clip.

You know, this trailer does prove a hypothesis of mine. Adding dramatic impacts and fade outs to any situation makes it much more intense. Need proof. Fine.

The top stories this week are Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, StarHawk, and Hitman! That’s right it’s time for your weekly wrap up on The Daily DL.com.

Nintendo dropped the price of their console known as the Wii. (Source: Nintendo) Maybe you’ve heard of it. Now you’ll be able to get the soon to be extremely outdated piece of hardware for the low low price of $150 dollars. Be the laugh of the neighborhood when everyone else is getting the Wii 2, and your cheap ass just got an old outdated dust collector. Hey, at least it comes with Mario Kart… and a steering wheel now. Something else you’ll throw away in six months.

Some Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 artwork was leaked onto the net. (Source: HBG)This included box art, a logo, and some kind of elite stamp with a bunch of guns behind it. These new leaked images that Activision refused to comment on are a great time to introduce my new segment.

I’M CALLING IT.

FAKE. There is no way that Activision would release such crap. Especially that Elite stamp. I mean who in their right mind would do that to the Call of Duty logo. It just looks ugly and that’s why I’m calling it. It’s Fake! Nice try Photoshop nerds.

Moving on, it would seem that Kotaku had an exclusive this Friday looking at Modern Warfare 3. (Source: Kotaku) Anyway, you might remember Kotaku as that website you went to before they let a drawing two chimpanzees made in their feces dictate their re-design. They revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will arrive November 8th, 2011 and will find us fighting wars in New York, Paris, and London. Of course the week wouldn’t be complete without talking a little bit about Sony. This week… almost a month after the outage began Sony sent out a nice letter to the companies that lost millions and millions of dollars due to the outage. (Source: DTOID) They said “we’re sorry” and outlined what they’ll be doing to make it all better. Way to be on the ball, and professional guys. Speaking of being on the ball, Bloomberg said that Sony’s goal was to have PSN back up by the 31st which Sony quickly slapped down. (Source: CVG) A conversation took place where a Sony rep said the following. Whoa whoa whoa. We have no fucking clue when the network is going to be back up oh my god why did you say that we’re so fucked I’m going to get fired. Do you know how pissed Capcom why are you writing this down? Then the transcriber stopped writing. So to recap… the consensus is that Sony still sucks. I’ll keep you updated.

Ohh yeah. OKAY to be fair they did reveal Starhawk this week. (Source: IGN) Starhawk is new the cool looking space shooter that is the sequel to the online only Warhawk. I’ve sworn a lot during this show, and I hate using the word awesome, but the best way to describe how Starhawk is looking, is by saying it’s looking FUCKING AWESOME. Now get your damn online fixed Sony so I can play it. Seriously

There were a few other stories this week I feel I need to hit on, but there short updates so lets do them all as fast as possible. It’s afterburner time. 3… 2… 1…

Street Fighter X Tekken will be in stores by 2012 and no one cares, because the much better sequel will follow 6 month’s later.

A new Assassin’s creed game was released further raping Ezio. But Altair will be in it making it worthwhile.

Someone at 1UP got ripped off buying a green ds lite.  In other news, I just made $200 dollars.

Brink came out this week and it sucked… on a planet where an almost 70% average review is SUCKING WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU INTERNET?

Finally, Dark Souls is going to be harder than ever. How hard? Let’s take a look… that boulder killed him that was great and Stop…. decent time, but I think I can do better next week.

finally, my biggest piece of news was all about Hitman. A new Hitman has finally been confirmed after a long wait with an extremely short trailer. The Trailer shows Agent 47 tightining a silencer on his gun, a rattle snake coiling a gun, and a brief glimpse at UPC number. And about that UPC number, I’ve got one more segment for you. I’m callin’ it.

So you see a UPC in the new Hitman trailer, you enter it online and guess what. It’s for a dildo bag. (Source: Gamesradar)I did not see that comin’. I wonder what the marketing guys were thinking of. “Hey bob, we need a upc! What Frank? We Need a UPC Bob. Oh yeah, how about this one? Yeah that should work, where did you get it? Oh I just grabbed the first upc I could find on Google. Thanks Frank. People have weird conversations in my head.

Get ready for Modern Warfare 3. (Source: CVG) According to PSM3 a UK Magazine, insider rumors are saying that the next in Activision’s megaton FPS series will be announced in mid-April. No date was given, but Treyarch is definitely staffing up for a Call of Duty related project. A ton of job listings from the company flooded onto the net looking for developers, combat designers, and more. (Source: Gamespot) The biggest tip is that one entry specifically states that the position reports into the Design Director for the Call of Duty multiplayer team at Treyarch. Exactly zero people are surprised by the news of a new Call of Duty.

Many game companies have been raising moolah to help out the people in Japan, and Team Fortress 2 raised a ton. (Source: TF2 Blog) They’ve managed to raise over $300,000 dollars by selling limited edition hats and noisemakers in the Mann Co. store. They offer hats like the Humanitarians Hachimaki for $7.99, and the Benefactors Kanmuri for $19.99 which will be available through April 6th. All proceeds from sales go directly to a fund that was setup by the American Red Cross. Hell yeah fellow gamers. That chunk of change is going to help a lot of people.

and finally, Microsoft is looking for a few thousand good men and women to test out… a new media format for the 360. (Source: Major Nelson) Realizing about as late in the game as they possibly could that their disc format could use an update, Major Nelson posted the call for testers on his atrociously designed blog MajorNelson.com. If you sign up, you do get a free copy of Halo Reach, but registration is limited to US residents only. Well thanks for the info Major Nelson. It’s also nice to know that the design of The Daily DL.com is better than at least one website out there.

Today the date for GDC 2012, Mortal Kombat’s 3D Demo, and a Modern Warfare 2 patch. I’m Destin and this, is The Daily DL.

Following up with press on the last day of GDC 2011, the date for GDC 2012 has been revealed. (Source: Joystiq) The reveal was on the back of pamphlets which states that the convention will be taking place from March 5th, until 9th next year, once again at the Moscone Center San Francisco, CA. Allright fellow geeks, now we know where the party’s at next year.

The 3D Mortal Kombat Demo is coming exclusively (Source: Playstation Blog) to the PS3 tomorrow, and Sony had a few hints as to what we can expect. The demo will consist of four characters, (sub-zero, scorpion, mileena, and johnny cage) two levels (the pit and the forest), and plenty of blood. You only get early access on March 8th if you’re a Playstation Plus subscriber, but the rest of us PS3 users have to wait until the 15th. The full game hit’s on April 18th, and sorry 360 users, all I can tell you is that the demo is coming… someday.

finally, it seems that a Modern Warfare 2 patch will be hitting the PS3 on March 8th. (Source: Ripten) The patch will address some of the hacking problems that they’ve encountered with the game, as confirmed by Robert Bowling via twitter. That’s great. It’s just a little bit late fellas.
