Capcom Cancels Megaman Legends 3

July 19, 2011 by

mml3

In a move that I can only describe as baffling, Capcom announced that they have canceled production on Megaman Legends 3. This comes as quite a surprise, as Capcom previously went to great lengths to make the game in the first place. It took them roughly 10 years to even start production on it and then they approached fans to get feedback and input, in order to make the game a worthy entry in the popular franchise. The only reason for the cancelation given was that the project “wasn’t meeting it’s goals at this time”.

Call me unprofessional, but canceling the game after teasing us fans is kind of a dick move, especially with such a lame reason.

Capcom Reveals Advanced Classes for Dragon’s Dogma

July 16, 2011 by

dogma3

Here’s some more Dragon’s Dogma for you. Capcom revealed some information about the different classes you can choose in their upcoming Xbox360/PS3 fantasy adventure game. The three base classes are Fighter, Strider and Mage, with Strider being the quick and nimble class that uses bows and arrows to attack from a distance (Fighter and Mage should be self-explanatory, really). When you level up enough, you’ll get access to the advanced classes Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer respectively. These are pretty much just improved versions of the base classes, giving you more health, range and access to better spells etc. While only having three classes plus their advanced counterparts seems a bit anemic, you’re not limited to these three choices, as you can mix and match your own custom class. Capcom will release more info on this system in the next few days.

Capcom Contest Suggests Devil May Cry HD Announcement

July 14, 2011 by

DMC4

Whether you love or hate the new Dante, there’s a hopeful future in store for fans of Devil May Cry. A new contest on Capcom Unity suggests that the rumored Devil May Cry HD Collection for the series 10th anniversary could be announced as early as Comic-Con.

The contest is rounding up fans to create their best piece of DMC art and submit it to the site and the winners chosen will win a copy of a “to be announced Capcom game” upon release. At Comic-Con, Capcom has a new title that will be announced and it’s shaping up that it may be the HD Collection fans have been wanting since this HD remaster trend started. The general idea is that with Ninja Theory’s DmC on the way, anything related to Devil May Cry would have to be an anniversary collection. Chances to enter the contest end on July 29th.

The Devil May Cry games are something I wouldn’t mind playing through again in HD, especially if it was more of an anniversary collection than just a disc with HD ports. Regardless, time will tell whether this is the case or not. Devil May Cry celebrates a decade of gaming on October 17.

July 11, 2011 by

dogma2

Capcom Japan released a batch of new screenshots today, showing off one of the bigger monsters players will be fighting in their upcoming open world fantasy game Dragon’s Dogma. Lurking in dungeons at the beginning of the game, would-be adventurers will have to fight the Chimera, the creature from Greek mythology that’s part lion, part goat and has a snake for a tail. While it’s a lot bigger than your average human adventurer, it’s very quick and nimble, forcing the player to coordinate with his other party members to force it into a corner and take it down. The thing looks quite badass, so hit the jump and take a look for yourself.

Street Fighter IV Volt out for iOS

June 30, 2011 by

sf4volt

Capcom released Street Fighter IV Volt today on the iOS app store and is currently having a promotional sale for early adopters.  The game is currently 99 cents on the app store but the price of the game is set to be raised by $1 a day until July 6th where the price will be fixed at 6.99 usd.  The new release comes with online multiplayer capabilities as well as Vega, Cody, and Balrog as playable characters.

A very tempting offer if I do say so myself but considering that I already own Super Street Fighter IV on PS3 as well as the 3DS I think ill pass.

SSFIV: AE Launch Party

June 29, 2011 by

ssflaunch

I’ve never really done anything like this before, but I thought I would throw together a brief montage of the launch party for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition that I was checking out last night.

As you can tell there were a lot of people in attendance, and the lines to play any of the games there were quite long. Included on that list of games was Street Fighter X Tekken, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

Capcom, as always, put together a nice little event for their fans. Thank you for having me Capcom. I’ll be enjoying my Oni and Evil Ryu bobble heads for some time.
