Fans of the new Mortal Kombat have been left wondering for some time who the final dlc add-on character for the Mortal Kombat Season Pass would be. The current additions have been Scarlet, Kenshi and most recently Rain but the identity of the last character in the pack has remained a secret until now as WB games and NetherRealm Studios announced today that Freddy Krueger will be making his way to the Mortal Kombat Universe.  Xbox 360 fans who purchased the season pass should get him as part of that pack but expect him to be priced at around 4.99 USD like the other DLC characters.

Freddy’s inclusion in Mortal Kombat marks the first good thing hes been in since the 80′s.  Check out his character trailer after the jump.

Kenshi Joins Mortal Kombat Today

July 5, 2011 by

Kenshi

The next DLC character for Mortal Kombat is ready for bloodshed today. Kenshi, the blind telekinetic master is the second of characters in MK’s post-release roster with Skarlet as the first and two more fighters on the way including Rain and an unannounced character.

Kenshi is available for a stand-alone download for about $4.99 but if you’re part of the MK Season Pass on Xbox Live, you can get him for… $0.00. That sounds pretty good for 360 players but PS3 players probably won’t like the hefty price tag for a single fighter.

Shift 2 Unleashed PC players get free DLC this week.

June 28, 2011 by

shift2freedlc

Fans of Shift 2 Unleashed on Xbox 360 and PS3 have already gotten some DLC love with both the Legends and Speedhunters DLC packs, however; PC owners have been left high and dry since the games launch in late March of this year.  That all changes this Thursday though as EA has announced that both DLC packs will be hitting the PC version this thursday for free.  The packs will include “27 new cars, five new tracks, and two new game modes”.  Good on EA for throwing the PC userbase a bone.  More details on the packs themselves after the jump. read the entry »

Twisted Metal’s Future in DLC

June 19, 2011 by

Twisted Metal

Since it’s announcement, Twisted Metal’s PS3 installment has quickly become one of the console’s most anticipated games. As with many other games, it may score some DLC after launch. In a recent tweet, David Jaffe stated that he would love to have DLC for the game but that his team is “100% laser focused on getting the core game done.”

So unlike other developers, Jaffe’s team seems set on keeping the DLC work until the end of Twisted Metal’s development and that’s admirable. The full tweet is listed below:

“@TwistedGarden Would love to support the new Twisted with DLC but as of now, we’re totally 100% focused on getting the core game done. I think we could intro new vehicles tho and keep the balance of the MP in mind, so I don’t see DLC/Balance being the issue. The issue is splitting your user base with the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’ BUT we have some ideas on how to deal with that as well if we ever get to make Twisted Metal DLC.”

With how it will impact the game in the mind of the development team, this is definitely music to the ears of those who want more destructive options for their vehicle combat action after launch.

Mortal Kombat “Season Pass” announced for Xbox Live

June 17, 2011 by

mkseasonpass

WB games and NetherRealm Studios announced this morning that they will be offering a season pass for the new Mortal Kombat game. The season pass will get users access to the new DLC characters planned for the game. The first of these characters being Scarlet coming June 21 and then to be followed by Kenshi, Rain and one more unannounced character. The benefit of the season pass is that it will cost you only 1200 ms points for all four characters rather then 400 ms points for each one individually. The bad news is that this is only available on Xbox Live so people who purchased the game on PS3 are out of luck if they want to take advantage of this offer.

Also announced is the inclusion of free compatibility packs to be released along side the DLC characters that will allow players to play against others who have downloaded the character packs. Another cool bit of info is that the first compatibility pack for Scarlet will come with Mortal Kimbat 3 skins for Cyrax and Sektor with other free skins also planned for the packs to come.

I must admit I am a bit peeved that I cant take advantage of the season pass due to me owning the PS3 version but the inclusion of free skins for everyone softens the blow a little.

FORCE UNLEASHED GETTING DLC, NEW MISSIONS

September 30, 2008 by

Luke Skywalker

If you ever wanted Luke to go on a killing rampage throughout the Star Wars galaxy, then you’re going to love this piece of news. LucasArts announced today that sometime this year, downloadable skins and a new mission will be available via DLC. Skins will include Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto. The new mission will delve further into what happens to the Not-So-Secret Apprentice on Coruscant in the Jedi Temple, where he faces “his inner demons” and finds out more about his deceased father.

Price or date has yet to be announced for this new piece of galaxy far, far away.

July 14, 2007 by

I have to say that Fallout 3 is easily one of my favorite games of 2008 and 2009. I have every achievement and just completed the Point Lookout DLC. That being said, heres the latest from Bethesda / ZeniMax on their next piece of downloadable content coming to my favorite game August 3rd to Xbox Live, and Windows titled “Mothership Zeta.”

and their official info on the DLC.

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

Developer: Bethesda Game Studios

Platform: Xbox 360TM and Games for Windows®

Description: Defy hostile alien abductors and fight your way off of the massive Mothership Zeta, orbiting Earth miles above the Capital Wasteland. Mothership Zeta takes Fallout 3 in an entirely new direction – outer space. Meet new characters and join with them in a desperate bid to escape the Aliens’ clutches. To do so, you’ll wield powerful new weapons, like the Alien Atomizer, Alien Disintegrator, and Drone Cannon, and deck yourself out in brand new outfits, like the Gemini-Era Spacesuit and even Samurai Armor.

Story: A strange Alien signal is being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland, originating from a crashed UFO. Is it a distress call, or something far more sinister? That question is answered when you find yourself beamed aboard an enormous Alien spacecraft, with only one alternative – to fight your way to the bridge of the ship and secure your escape.

Key Features:

• Find and exploit new and destructive alien technology, like the Alien Atomizer and Drone Cannon.
• Explore the vast Mothership and learn the secrets of the Aliens’ master plan.
• Thwart the Aliens’ attempt to stop your escape, and take over the Alien ship before it wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting Earth below.
• Fight against the Alien Invaders, their robot drones, and turn their own horrible experiments against them.
• Ally yourself with an unexpected array of characters, both from the Capital Wasteland and from Earth’s past.
