Seeing as how it took over 14 years to get the game released I did not expect to see Duke again in a long time. I was dead wrong.

Interceptor a studio based in Denmark is currently working on an Unreal Engine 3 remake of Duke Nukem 3D. The title is currently going by the name Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded and is a non commercial product being made with the consent of Gearbox Software. The game is planned to have 16 player multiplayer with modes like “dukematch”, “capture the babe”, and a horde mode. The Danish studio also promised the following from the project.

“A faithful-but-fresh re-envisioning of one of 3D Realms’ greatest endeavors, Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded will invite players both new and old to experience the seminal action-shooter in high-definition. Memorable locations such as Hollywood Holocaust and Shrapnel City will be respectfully recreated with new and exciting vehicular sequences, non-playable characters, scripted events and all-new interactive experiences.”

Considering how Duken Nukem Forever turned out I cant say I’m all that excited to jump back into another Duke game but I’m willing to give it a shot especially if its free.

Today Homefront’s sales, the Duke has some trouble coming out, and a new demo hit’s XBox Live. I’m Destin and this is your Daily DL.

Hey you know Duke Nukem Forever…. yeah, it just got delayed. (Source: CVG) Randy Pitchford made the announcement in a short video where he tried to make light of the situation, but there weren’t a lot of laughs about delaying a game that we’ve waited this long for. The new release date is June 14th, 2011 just over one month later than originally planned. Well, I guess Gearbox is going to have to come up with a new April Fools joke now.

Many people have been calling Homefront a failure, but if I could sell a million turds at 60 bucks a pop, I’d be pretty happy with myself. (Source: PSXExtreme) That’s pretty much what happened with Homefront as a million copies have sold globally and 2.4 million total copies of the game have shipped. Homefront may have caused THQ’s stock to plummet, but that sure didn’t hurt sales as 375,000 copies were sold on the first day. THQ is pointing out that the foolish stock drop was caused by an over reliance on review scores that prevented investors from seeing the big picture. Well congrats THQ. I can’t wait to see what giant piece of shit you sell a million copies of next.

and finally, Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga celebrated the demos release today. (Source: VGRevolution) Atlus sent out a press release letting you know that you can now try out the game by downloading the demo on X-Box live… but you’ll just be wishing it was Dark Souls. Dark Souls, also being published by Atlus, is the spiritual successor to Demon Souls, and it will be arriving on the 360 and PS3. I can’t wait for it. Yes, you can see the Divinity II trailer playing right now, but I really… REALLY wish I was talking about Dark Souls. Anyway Divinity II releases on the Xbox 360, April 12th… and no one cares.
