I should be thanking the developers. Up until about an hour before writing this, I thought we were going to pass on preview coverage of Borderlands because we weren’t able to use any video footage. Well, having the guilty concience I do and having a lot of videos do this week I said I’m going to sit down, and give this game about an hour. It took about 5 minutes and I was hooked.
It is time to poop in your pants, check out the teaser trailer for StarCraft II. Looks like a certain Brood Queen is back.

Many of you readers out there are probably aware of a game called DOTA that is available as a downloadable map for Warcraft III and its expansion, The Frozen Throne. Heck, a song was even written about it. I myself have had many a great nights LANing it up with friends for hours. Well, there’s good news for all you fans of the RTS RPG genre.
Riot Games, led by the developers who first created the DOTA mod, are creating their own standalone game called League of Legends (LOL – pun intended!), which will have many of the same elements found in DOTA, with a few changes of course. Instead of individual units to control, you get a Summoner avatar that controls troops that fight for you. The Summoner gains levels and items during a game and loses them after the game ends; however, the Summoner is carried on to the next game.
I’m pretty excited for this game, if only because I love DOTA, but it just goes to show that you don’t need a $100 million dollar budget to make a good game. I’m looking at you Halo.
