July 4, 2011 by

ffx

HD remakes seem to be the thing to do in the game industry these days. It is a low risk venture with almost always much to gain. Some of the biggest franchises of all time have hopped on the HD bandwagon, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, and Resident Evil, just to name a few. But Final Fantasies not ending in 13, have yet to be given that HD treatment. The wait could be over soon.

Binary Domain’s Voice Commands Detailed

July 1, 2011 by

binary

At this year’s E3 it has been revealed that Sega’s upcoming squad-based 3d Person Shooter Binary Domain, which is being developed by the team behind the Yakuza franchise, will allow you to use voice commands to bark orders to your squadmates via a headset or Kinect. Now Famitsu has revealed some more info on the feature. Not only will you be able to yell things like Shoot! or Take Cover! during battles to coordinate your team, but you will also be able to talk to them outside of battle. Here they’ll update you on the situation, their status and tell you things related to the current story progress. It will also happen that they’ll occasionally refuse to obey your commands, allowing you “to experience a real battlefield”.

Looks like Sega is putting a lot of effort into making the whole squad dynamic feel natural and realistic. Let’s hope the voice recognition works as well as it should when the game releases in early 2012.
