HD remakes seem to be the thing to do in the game industry these days. It is a low risk venture with almost always much to gain. Some of the biggest franchises of all time have hopped on the HD bandwagon, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, and Resident Evil, just to name a few. But Final Fantasies not ending in 13, have yet to be given that HD treatment. The wait could be over soon.

June 28 marks the day the Uncharted 3 beta starts, and that day is upon us. If you have logged into your PSN account today though and you’re wondering where it is, well according to Naughty Dog’s twitter the beta should begin around 2 PM Pacific Time, so nothing is happening yet. inFamous 2, a game that was just released a few weeks ago has come to the PlayStation Network as a full download. It is currently priced at the normal retail pricing of $59.99, but gamers don’t even have to leave the house to get a taste of Cole’s electric personality. PlayStation Plus users have the option of playing a 60 minute free demo of the new Sucker Punch game, so in short you can try before you buy.

Gears of War fans rejoice! A limited edition console featuring one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises is coming to stores this September during the launch of the game. The system will come with a 320GB hard drive and a sweet crimson design with Gears of War logos on top and front. This limited edition console will retail for $399.99 and here is what you will get for that 400 bucks.

id Softwares John Carmack has hinted at a Quake 5 in a recent interview with Eurogamer. He goes on to say that Quake 5 is not currently in development but there are strong groups within the company that want to create another Quake installment. Carmack adds that Quake 5 could be going back to the series’ roots, ”We went from the Quake 2 and the Quake 4 Strogg universe. We are at least tossing around the possibilities of going back to the bizarre, mixed up Cthulhu-ish Quake 1 world and rebooting that direction. We think that would be a more interesting direction than doing more Strogg stuff after Quake 4.”
