Mortal Combat News

Today Just Cause 3, a Mortal Kombat news roundup, and something related to EVE Online that I might enjoy. I’m Destin and this is the Daily DL.

A new trailer for Dust 514 was released and I kind of want to play it. (Source: Destructoid) The game will interact with EVE Online meaning EVE players will handle space combat, while Dust players handle ground combat. The trailer for the MMO was shown during EVE Fanfest 2011 and the game will be released on consoles sometime in 2011. Seeing I didn’t enjoy EVE Online in the slightest, it’ll be nice to play something from CCP that I’m excited for.

Now I know I’ve been talking about Mortal Kombat a lot but I’m excited about it so too bad. A ton of news was posted on the internet today including, a leaked image of the complete roster. (Source: DualPixels) It looks to me like a few familiar faces will be making a return. The news didn’t stop there however as Kenshi and Scarlet were confirmed as the first two DLC characters planned for the game. (Source: CVG) Scarlet is an homage to an old glitch from the arcade days when Jade, Kitana or Mileena would turn red. Also this is just a tidbit but Ed Boon may have teased a Xbox 360 character to compete with the Kratos exclusive on the PS3. (Source: GiantBomb) He said “There’s nothing that we have ready to announce but we love our 360 players and we love our PS3 players and I think everybody’s gonna get something they’ll be happy with. Enough with the teases. At this point, I’d be happy with just having the game Ed.

finally, Just Cause 3 may be in development. (Source: GameThirst) I’m chalking this one up as a rumor, but in the latest issue of EGM, the rumor generating master Quartermann said that he hears another installation may be in the works at Eidos, or at the very least an extension of the last game. Quartermann did say that he knows a movie is in the works based on the exploits of Rico Rodriguez and that Sylvester Stallone is involved. Sylvester Stallone is getting back into movies? Well now I know this Quatermann guy is full of crap.

I’m Destin and that, was your Daily DL.

Destin has a penchant for video games and sarcasm. He's written for ScrewAttack, Destructoid, and GoNintendo, but has also produced episodes of the Video Game Vault series for Gametrailers, and created, produced, and edited every episode of The Armory on IGN. To put it mildly, he knows his shit.
